Our Ministries
Some introductory text that summarizes the ministries provided by Trinity United Parish…
Children’s Ministry
Our Sunday School meets during 9 a.m. worship from September – May. We have two Sunday School classes, Elementary and Middle School. Our six teachers are all caring, energetic and thoughtful women with mature faith. We welcome all children to join us!
Youth Ministry
Youth Group meets on Sunday afternoons once per month. Join us for engaging conversation, fun outings and worship leadership.
Adult Education
Adult Education classes are taught/experienced on Sunday evenings in several seasons of the year: Fall, Advent, Lent and more. See our calendar or newsletter for more information.
Music Ministry
Our choir rehearses after worship during several seasons of the year. It is directed by Cheri Gibeaut and Barb Yerke. We welcome all voices – and have had voices as young as 8 and old as 80+. We have also formed a men’s quintet that could expand to include more voices. We also often have solos and duets in worship. We enjoy music of many styles!
Church Chix
The playful name doesn’t tell the whole story, but there is a lot of fun involved in this monthly group gathering of women from both churches. Each month is a different program, and always plenty of food. It alternates between Briggsville and Moundville. Church Chix meets at 8:30 a.m. on the fourth Tuesday of the month.
Hands-on Mission (Stitch-and-a-Prayer Ministry)
Some very talented women at Moundville and Briggsville make lap quilts for those who have been going through hard times. We have completed about 300 of these quilts–signed by people in the congregations–and sent with love to those who are sick or grieving. We have also made baby afghans for new babies and pillow cases for high school graduates. Many people have been involved in all phases of this ministry!
Ruby’s Pop-Up Pantry
We are involved in volunteering for Ruby’s Pop-Up Pantry, which in our area is served from the Montello United Methodist Church. It’s an inexpensive way to get a lot of quality food and benefits the local community.
Adopt-A-Highway
The Moundville Church has adopted its section of County Highway O, and does clean ups once or twice a year.
Mission Connections: UMCOR
United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is a top-tier agency in terms of delivering help and hope to people in need around the world. UMCOR is there in crisis situations (often weather-related) and stays long after most other agencies have left. It has been helping people since 1940.
Advance Program
United Methodist churches have the ability to give through The Advance, which allows 100% of giving to go to the organization in need, since administrative costs are covered by other offerings. All mission is local, and the advance supports the life-giving work of local people around the world.
